Inhuman sufferings of slum dwellers in city

Staff Reporter, Dhaka, April 5, 2018: At present, slums are a common scene in the city of Dhaka. The slums have become places of inhuman sufferings for them. The slum dwellers live in a very unhygienic condition. Their houses are no better than nests of birds. The houses are too small and narrow for even two persons to share, five to six members are seen to live in each of them. They lack sanitary toilets and their bathrooms and kitchens are often made on unbelievably small spaces. As a result, slum dwellers often suffer from various stomach diseases like cholera, diarrhea, dysentery etc. Slum dwellers are usually rickshaw pullers or day laborers or garment workers. Actually, the slum dwellers can live like normal human beings if the rich and the government come forward to rehabilitate them and create better job opportunities for them. [চলবে]
