Rajshahi University has imposed a ban on ragging until a further order is aimed at upholding a congenial and peaceful academic atmosphere on the campus.

Many unwanted and unpleasant situations happened due to ragging and hindered academic activities, said a statement on Tuesday.

Posing warning that stern action will be taken against those who will be found involved in ragging, the university urged all concerned not to arrange any ragging programme on campus.
