Rajshahi University paid rich tribute to noted writer Prof Hasan Azizul Haque on his first death anniversary on Tuesday, reports BSS.
Rajshahi Mayor and Awami League Presidium Member AHM Khairuzzaman Liton accompanied by university vice-chancellor Prof Golam Sabbir Sattar Tapu and students adviser Prof Tareque Nur placed wreaths on his grave on the campus.
Teachers and students of different departments as well as representatives of several social, cultural and literary organisations also placed floral wreaths on the grave.On this day last year, renowned writer Hasan Azizul Huq passed away in his Bishwabidyaloy Housing Society residence at the age of 83.
Winner of the highest civilian awards, Swadhinata Padak and Ekushey Padak, the writer was honoured with Ananda Puroshkar in West Bengal.
Among his works, storybooks 'Samudrer Swapna Sheeter Aranya, 'Atmoja O Ekti Karobi Gachh' and 'Jibon Ghoshe Agun', and novels 'Brittayon', 'Agunpakhi' and 'Shiuli' are notable.
