'Lojens Presents Agricultural Olympiad Season 2' ends with final round, award ceremony

The 'Agricultural Olympiad Season 2' has been ended with final round competition and award ceremony on Saturday.

Around 1600 participants from around 33 institutes participated in this season. Around 80 people competed in 8 categories in the final round and from there 3 winners in each category, best 3 volunteers, best 4 organizers were awarded in various segments on the program of February 18 at Syed Nazrul Islam Conference Hall of Bangladesh Agricultural University in Mymensingh.

"Bangladesh Agricultural Olympiad" was organized with the main objective of making the students of agriculture science-minded and interested in making agriculture more sustainable and better.

This year's Olympiad had eight categories: agriculture, fishing, animal production, agribusiness and agricultural economics, food and nutrition, biotechnology and genetics, agricultural innovation and technology, animal health and biosecurity.

A twenty-minute quiz competition was held during the first stage.  A question and answer session at the end of the quiz was held where the best three questions were awarded. At this time, awards were given in eight categories including Agriculture, Agricultural Innovation and Technology, Animal Production, Biotechnology and Genetics, Animal Health and Biosecurity, Food and Nutrition, Agribusiness and Agricultural Economics and Fisheries. A total of 24 people, three in each category, and three best questioners were awarded. Awards include certificates, medals, books and gift boxes.

Sylhet Agricultural University (SAU), Sher-E-Bangla Agricultural University (SBAU) and Khulna Agricultural University (KAU) were awarded as the best campuses. Also, three people were awarded as best volunteer and four as best organizer.

Dr. M.A. Rahim, ex-professor of department of horticulture, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Dr. Md. Solaiman Ali Fakir, professor of Crop Botany Department, Dr. Fatema Hoque Shikha, professor of Fisheries Technology Department, Dr. Mohammad Mahfujul Haque, director of the University's International Desk, Dr. Tofazzal Islam, professor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University and youth influencer, content creator Masuda Khan were present at the finale to encourage and inspire the aspirant agriculturists.

Md. Atikur Rahman, the founder and director of the Bangladesh Agricultural Olympiad, has guided the event and his closing remarks brought the program to a close.
