The graduation ceremony of Oxford International School, which is the sole ISO certified organization for education and considered as one of the top English medium schools in Bangladesh, has been held on Tuesday at the Grand Ball Room of Hotel Sheraton, Dhaka.
The principal of the school, Dr M Nurun Nabi presided over the convocation ceremony while Zilke Schmeer, the Cultural Attaché of German Embassy, spoke as the Chief Guest and gave the keynote address to the graduates.
Besides this, she advised the graduates to construct a well-planned and brilliant future emphasizing the necessity of getting ready for and adapting to the modern progressive world. She also expects that the current students will continue to explore and encounter new opportunities in their future career path by pursuing knowledge and developing requisite skill sets. Additionally, she has requested the students to use their acquired knowledge, competencies, experiences and skills for the welfare of the country and towards the nation.Dr David Dowland, the Registrar of BRAC University has attended as the Convocation speaker at the ceremony. In his keynote speech, he accorded the school with a lot of appreciation for its continuous effort in thriving the academic excellence. Besides, he has urged the students to have a balanced life along their accomplishments. A number of dignitaries, esteemed educators, learners and valued guardians attended at the convocation.
Distinguished special guests Maxim Rayman, Exams Director, British Council Bangladesh; Director of Business Development Sarwat Reza; Tim Fauth, Deputy Director, Goethe Institute, Cambridge Country Manager Shaheen Reza; Kazi Nahian, the Country Manager for Assessment and Cambridge University Press, also spoke in the ceremony.
Later, the students received their certificates from the Director MS. Tooba Arbab, and CEO Mr Mohammad Abu Kayes Jahadi and Principal of this school Dr M Nurun Nabi.
