Motorcycle accident takes JnU student's life

Abhijit Haldar, a student of Jagannath University, was killed in a motorcycle accident in Srinagar on his way of going Mawa on Friday morning, reports UNB.

Ananya Halder Antu, another student of the university who was with him, was seriously injured and admitted to Dhaka Medical.

Abhijit is a student in the 2017 - 18 academic year, studied masters of the department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Jagannath University (JnU). At the same time, he was in charge of the General Secretary of Student Welfare at Pirojpur district. His home district is Pirojpur.

The seriously injured student, Antu, is a student of the 2019 - 20 academic year, currently studying 4th year of honours in the Institute of Education and Research (IER) department at Jagannath University (JnU).

In this regard, Dr. Mostafa Kamal, proctor of the university, said, "The accident happened in Srinagar on the way to Mawa. Abhijit died instantly, and Antu was brought to Dhaka Medical in a serious condition. Antu is currently being treated at Dhaka Medical and Abhi's dead body will be handed over to us by the highway police shortly after completing the legal process."
