Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), the student wing of the ruling Awami League, staged a demonstration on the Dhaka University (DU) campus on Monday, demanding the establishment of an independent Palestinian state and an immediate end to the barbarism of Israeli forces in Gaza.

The BCL men staged the demonstration in front of the historic Madhur Canteen, a socio-culturally and politically important place for DU students, this noon and later, brought out procession expressed solidarity with the global demand, reports The Daily Sun.

Protests in solidarity with Palestine were held Sunday in Belgium, Switzerland, Germany and the Netherlands, with hundreds of people demanding a permanent cease-fire in Gaza, according to the international media.

The BCL men also marched different streets, holding flags of Palestine and were engaged in chanting slogans in support of an independent Palestinian state.
