Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor ASM Maksud Kamal resigned from his position on Saturday.

He submitted his resignation letter to the education ministry on Saturday noon.

Besides, provosts of Rokeya Hall, Shamsunnahar, Bijoy Ekattor, Bangabandhu, Freedom Fighter Ziaur Rahman, Shaheed Sergeant Zahurul Haque and Salimullah Muslim Hall also resigned.

Earlier on Friday, a group of students staged a demonstration on the DU campus demanding their two-point demand, including the resignation of its VC, proctor, assistant proctor, treasurer, all provosts and all senate and syndicate members.

Meanwhile, Prof Md Hasibur Rasheed, VC of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) and Prof M Kamruzzaman of Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU), Dinajpur resigned following the step down of Sheikh Hasina from her post

Beside, Prof Golam Sabbir Sattar of Rajshahi University, along with around 29 top officials of the university, resigned from their respective posts.
