Police arrested 40 people from various spots of the capital on charges of drug dealing and peddling in separate drives during the last 24 hours.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed the matter to Bangladesh Pratidin on Tuesday (August 30).                 

A total of 5,518 pieces of Yaba, 121 grams of heroin, and 6 kg of hemp were seized from their possessions.

Thirty-one cases were filed with respective police stations in this regard under the narcotic control act, police said.
