Police arrested 59 people from various spots of the capital on charges of drug dealing and peddling in separate drives during the last 24 hours.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed the matter to Bangladesh Pratidin on Monday (September 5).                 

A total of 5,080 pieces of Yaba, 41 grams of heroin, 5 litres of local liquor, 19 bottles of phensidyle and 22 kg of hemp were seized from their possessions.

Forty-five cases were filed with respective police stations in this regard under the narcotic control act, police said.
