Anisul asks for quick disposal of default loan cases

Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq on saturday underlined the need for solving the default loan cases quickly to keep the country's economy vibrant, reports BSS.

"In the present global situation, we must have to unlock the knot of the default loan-cases and quickly dispose of those aiming to control the increase of default loans," he added.

He made this remark while addressing the inaugural function of the "147th Refresher Course" organized for the Joint District and Sessions Judges/Equivalent Judges at The Judicial Administration Training Institute (JATI) in Dhaka as the chief guest.

Highlighting the backlog of the cases, Anisul Huq said more than half of the civil cases filed with the country's courts are related to the land.

Land disputes are also at the root of many criminal cases, he said, adding that millions of litigants have to give attendance in court every day to get justice in these cases.

"This not only wastes their time and money, but also wastes their valuable working-hours," he said.

He hoped that the judges would take these matters seriously and reduce the sufferings of the people by providing speedy justice.
