Police has arrested the driver of the microbus that hit Ali Hossain, a tenth grade student of Tejgaon Govt Science School and College, in BG Press area on Sunday morning.
The name of the arrestee is Ziaul Haque, 50.
HM Azimul Haque, DMP Deputy Commissioner of Tejgaon division, confirmed the matter of his arrest on Monday noon.He said police arrested the driver from Bishmail area under Ashulia of Dhaka. The microbus he was driving has been confiscated.
Details of it will be disclosed in a press conference going to be held at his office on Monday afternoon, he added.
Earlier, Students of Tajgaon Government Science School and College on Monday morning blocked roads in Dhaka’s Farmgate area, demanding safe roads and protesting the death their fellow student.
A number of students of the school took to the street around 11:50 am, in front of the Farmgate Police Box, demanding road safety.
Then, to control the situation, DMP ADC of Tejgaon division Robaet Hassan came to the spot. He convinced the students and sent them to Farmgate.
