Police arrested 59 people from various spots of the capital on charges of drug dealing and peddling in separate drives during the last 24 hours.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed the matter to Bangladesh Pratidin on Friday (September 30).                 

A total of 8,250 pieces of Yaba, 40 grams of heroin, 3 bottles of phensidyle, and 16 kg of hemp were seized from their possessions.

Thirty-nine cases were filed with respective police stations in this regard under the narcotic control act, police said.
