A 17-year-old girl was gang-raped inside a train at Kamalapur railway station on Friday night.
Railway police claimed to have detained five people in this connection.
The detainees have been identified as Sumon, 21, Naim, 25, Najmul, 25, Anwar 20 and Roman Prokash Kalu, 22.Ferdaus Ahmed Biswas, Officer-in-Charge of Dhaka Railway Police Station (Kamalapur) confirmed the matter to the media on Saturday.
According to police, the girl came from Netrokona by train at night. Some youths allegedly took her to the Turag Commuter train on platform-1 and raped her.
The victim is undergoing treatment at the forensic department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, said the police official.
