Closed-circuit cameras (CCTV) have been installed on 108 buses to ensure the safety of women in public transport in the capital.
State minister for Women and Children Welfare Fazilatunnesa Indira inaugurated the event at Syed Nazrul Islam Convention Centre in Mirpur on Sunday.
In her inaugural speech, Indira said, "This will make public transport women-friendly and safe."Lawmaker Aga Khan Mintu, high officials of the ministry and leaders of the Bus Owners' Association, among others, were present at the event.
