Police arrested 61 people from various spots of the capital on charges of drug dealing and peddling in separate drives during the last 24 hours.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed the matter to Bangladesh Pratidin on Friday (October 21).                 

A total of 4,695 pieces of Yaba, 205 packets of heroin, 2 bottles of phensidyle, 458 bottles of foreign liquor and 24.7 kg of hemp were seized from their possessions.

Forty-four cases were filed with respective police stations in this regard under the narcotic control act, police said.
