The government has extended the contractual appointment of Shaban Mahmood for two more years as minister (press) at the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi, India.
His two-year appointment will be effective from November 22 or the date of his joining as part of the continuation of the current appointment, said a gazette notification by the Ministry of Public Administration on Wednesday.
Shaban Mahmood, former secretary general of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) and special correspondent of the daily Bangladesh Pratidin was appointed as minister (press) in November 2022. The appointment was scheduled to be ended on November 15.However, the terms and conditions of the appointment will keep unchanged in the new contract, added the notification.
