Police arrested 118 people from various spots of the capital on charges of drug dealing and peddling in separate drives during the last 24 hours.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed the matter to Bangladesh Pratidin on Sunday (November 6).                 

A total of 5,835 pieces of Yaba, 271 grams of heroin, 285 bottles of phensidyle, 3 bottles of foreign liquor, 54 litres of local liquor, 50 injections and 126 kg of hemp were seized from their possessions.

Ninety-three cases were filed with respective police stations in this regard under the narcotic control act, police said.
