Police detained 19 people from various spots of the capital on charges of drug dealing and peddling in separate drives during the last 24 hours.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed the matter to Bangladesh Pratidin on Saturday (December 10).                    

A total of 1,969 pieces of yaba, 49 packets of heroin, 50 bottles of phensidyle, 71 injections and 0.9 kg of hemp were seized from their possessions.

Fourteen cases were filed with respective police stations in this regard under the narcotic control act, police said.
