Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is the first passenger of the just-inaugurated metro rail.

Sheikh Hasina herself bought the first ticket of the metro rail to travel Diabari to Uttara on Wednesday.

Sheikh Hasina’s sister Sheikh Rehana, Cabinet members, lawmakers, secretaries, freedom fighters, children and representatives of all professions also ride the first journey with the Prime Minister.

Earlier in the day, Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the first-ever metro rail service in the capital.

She inaugurated the operation of the first phase of the project-- Uttara to Agargaon--at 11:00 am from the Uttara sector-15 playground.

Marking the occasion, she also unveiled a commemorative stamp and a Tk 50 banknote.
