Police detained 45 people from various spots of the capital on charges of drug dealing and peddling in separate drives during the last 24 hours.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed the matter to Bangladesh Pratidin on Thursday (January 5).                 

A total of 10,578 pieces of yaba, 291 grams of heroin, 51 bottles of phensidyle, and 37 kg of hemp were seized from their possessions.

Thirty-two cases were filed with respective police stations in this regard under the narcotic control act, police said.
