Police detained 47 people from various spots of the capital on charges of drug dealing and peddling in separate drives during the last 24 hours.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed the matter to Bangladesh Pratidin on Friday (January 6).                 

A total of 833 pieces of yaba, 181 bottles of phensidyle, 60 litres of local liquor and 7.8 kg of hemp were seized from their possessions.

Thirty-five cases were filed with respective police stations in this regard under the narcotic control act, police said.
