Police detained 48 people from various spots of the capital on charges of drug dealing and peddling in separate drives during the last 24 hours.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed the matter to Bangladesh Pratidin on Saturday (January 7).                 

A total of 12,460 pieces of yaba, 115 grams of heroin, and 22.8 kg of hemp were seized from their possessions.

Thirty-four cases were filed with respective police stations in this regard under the narcotic control act, police said.
