A gazette notification has been issued making veteran politician Matia Chowdhury Deputy Leader of the Parliament.
Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat Senior Secretary KM Abdus Salam signed the notification on Tuesday.
Ruling Awami League decided to make Matia Chowdhury Deputy Leader of the Jatiya Sangsad.Mentionable, Deputy Leader of the Jatiya Sangsad Syeda Sazeda Chowdhury died on September 11, last year after a prolonged illness. From then on, the post of Deputy Leader remained vacant.
