The 23rd national conference of the Zoological Society of Bangladesh was held on Saturday at Senate Bhaban of Dhaka University with the theme “Conservation of Biodiversity: Bangladesh Perspective”.
Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan addressed the event as the chief guest.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Dr Mohammed Akhtaruzzaman chaired the conference while president of the Zoological Society of Bangladesh Professor Dr Hamida Khanam, Prokriti O Jibon Foundation chairman Mukit Majumder Babu, Chief Conservator of Forests Amir Hosain Chowdhury and country’s renowned Zoologists addressed the event.Speakers at the conference said human beings and all animals are part of biodiversity and ecosystem.
This biodiversity will have to be alive to sustain human civilization, they opined.
