Police detained 34 people from various spots of the capital on charges of drug dealing and peddling in separate drives during the last 24 hours.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed the matter to Bangladesh Pratidin on Saturday (February 4).                 

A total of 1,965 pieces of yaba, 120 grams of heroin, 10 bottles of phensidyle, 2 litres of local liquor, 45 injections and 36 kg of hemp were seized from their possessions.

Thirty-one cases were filed with respective police stations in this regard under the narcotic control act, police said.
