The visiting delegation of six members of the Federal Parliament of Germany called on Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury at the latter's Jatiya Sangsad office in the capital on Thursday.
The delegation was comprised of lawmaker Renate Künast, Andreas Larem, Paul Lehrieder, Ria Schröder, André Hahn, and Malte Kaufmann.
During the meeting, they discussed the friendly relationship between Bangladesh-Germany, the surprising development of Bangladesh, economic development balancing with climate adaptation, peaceful repatriation of Rohingya people, women's progress in Bangladesh, expansion of trade and commerce, and German investment in the economic zones of Bangladesh.The parliamentary delegation praised the democratic structure besides the economic development of Bangladesh.
Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury sought German cooperation for peaceful Rohingya repatriation to their homeland in Myanmar.
German Ambassador to Bangladesh Achim Tröster, high officials of the embassy and the parliament secretariat were present.
