Pilkhana carnage: Homage paid at Banani graveyard

Homage was paid to the martyred army officials by placing floral wreaths at the graves of slain army officials at the Military Graveyard in the capital's Banani marking the fourteenth anniversary of the atrocious carnage at the then Pilkhana BDR headquarters.

President Abdul Hamid's military secretary major general SM Salahuddin Islam, and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's military secretary major general Kabir Ahmed paid rich tribute to the martyred army officials on Saturday morning.

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan, Chief of Army Staff General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral M Shaheen Iqbal and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Shaikh Abdul Hannan -- Director General of BGB Major General Md Shafeenul Islam, senior secretary of the public security division Mohammad Aminul Islam khan and the family members of the slain officers also paid their tributes to the slain Army officers.

Later, they stood solemn silence for one minute in honour of the martyred army officials.

Military personnel have given a salute at that time.

Awami League joint general secretary Mahbub-Ul Alam hanif along with others paid homage on behalf of the Party.

Later, a dua was offered seeking the salvation of the departed souls.
