Police detained 44 people from various spots of the capital on charges of drug dealing and peddling in separate drives during the last 24 hours.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed the matter to Bangladesh Pratidin on Thursday (June 15).                 

A total of 975 pieces of yaba, 104 grams of heroin, 1 bottle of foreign liquor, 20 drug injections and 22.7 kg of hemp were seized from their possessions.

Thirty-two cases were filed with respective police stations in this regard under the narcotic control act, police said.
