Police detained 66 people from various spots of the capital on charges of drug dealing and peddling in separate drives during the last 24 hours.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed the matter to Bangladesh Pratidin on Thursday (June 22).                 

A total of 1,197 pieces of yaba, 153 grams of heroin, 39 bottles of phensidyle and 35 kg of hemp were seized from their possessions.

Forty-four cases were filed with respective police stations in this regard under the narcotic control act, police said.
