Police detained 47 people from various spots of the capital on charges of drug dealing and peddling in separate drives during the last 24 hours.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed the matter to Bangladesh Pratidin on Tuesday (July 11).                 

A total of 1,556 pieces of yaba, 372 grams of heroin, 2 bottles of phensidyle and 9.4 kg of hemp were seized from their possessions.

Thirty-five cases were filed with respective police stations in this regard under the narcotic control act, police said.
