Police detained 48 people from various spots of the capital on charges of drug dealing and peddling in separate drives during the last 24 hours.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed the matter to Bangladesh Pratidin on Thursday (July 20).                 

A total of 11,761 pieces of yaba, 39 grams of heroin, and 10.17 kg of hemp were seized from their possessions.

Thirty-seven cases were filed with respective police stations in this regard under the narcotic control act, police said.
