BNP started a public rally on Monday afternoon protesting the attack on its peaceful sit-in programme.

The event started at 2:40 pm near the gate of the historic Suhrawardy Udyan, adjacent to the Engineering Institute in Dhaka.

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, secretary general of the party will address the gathering as the chief guest.

A huge number of leaders and activists of the party from different city areas have gathered at the venue.

Meanwhile, a large number of law enforcers were seen deployed near the venue area to control any untoward incident.
