Police detained 58 people from various spots of the capital on charges of drug dealing and peddling in separate drives during the last 24 hours.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed the matter to Bangladesh Pratidin on Tuesday (August 15).                 

A total of 5,751 pieces of yaba, 375 grams of heroin, 84 bottles of phensidyle, 10 bottles of local liquor and 24.37 kg of hemp were seized from their possessions.

Forty-five cases were filed with respective police stations in this regard under the narcotic control act, police said.
