Police detained 49 people from various spots of the capital on charges of drug dealing and peddling in separate drives during the last 24 hours.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed the matter to Bangladesh Pratidin on Friday (August 25).                 

A total of 2,768 pieces of yaba, 30.5 grams of heroin, 7 bottles of phensidyle, 800 injections and around 5 kg of hemp were seized from their possessions.

Thirty-two cases were filed with respective police stations in this regard under the narcotic control act, police said.
