Police detained 57 people from various spots of the capital on charges of drug dealing and peddling in separate drives during the last 24 hours.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed the matter to Bangladesh Pratidin on Monday (September 4).                    

A total of 32,569 pieces of yaba, 35.5 grams of heroin, and 77.3 kg of hemp were seized from their possessions.

Forty-nine cases were filed with respective police stations in this regard under the narcotic control act, police said.
