Police detained 62 people from various spots of the capital on charges of drug dealing and peddling in separate drives during the last 24 hours.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed the matter to Bangladesh Pratidin on Tuesday (September 12).                    

A total of 15,947 pieces of yaba, 117 grams of heroin, 59 bottles of phensidyle, 850 injections and 55.75 kg of hemp were seized from their possessions.

Forty-four cases were filed with respective police stations in this regard under the narcotic control act, police said.
