Police detained 39 people from various spots of the capital on charges of drug dealing and peddling in separate drives during the last 24 hours.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed the matter to Bangladesh Pratidin on Thursday (September 21). 

A total of 3,928 pieces of yaba, 52 grams of heroin, 20 bottles of phensidyle, and 38.25 kg of hemp were seized from their possessions.

Twenty-eight cases were filed with respective police stations in this regard under the narcotic control act, police said.
