Police detained 39 people from various spots of the capital on charges of drug dealing and peddling in separate drives during the last 24 hours.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed the matter to Bangladesh Pratidin on Thursday (September 28).                 

A total of 10,931 pieces of yaba, 95 grams of heroin, 70 bottles of phensidyle, 14 litres of local liquor, 6 litres of foreign liquor, and 71.1 kg of hemp were seized from their possessions.

Thirty cases were filed with respective police stations in this regard under the narcotic control act, police said.
