Police detained 42 people from various spots of the capital on charges of drug dealing and peddling in separate drives during the last 24 hours.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed the matter to Bangladesh Pratidin on Thursday (October 12).

A total of 2,030 pieces of yaba, 45 grams of heroin, 45 bottles of phensidyle, and 10 kg of hemp were seized from their possessions. 

Thirty-five cases were filed with respective police stations in this regard under the narcotic control act, police said.
