Police detained 33 people from various spots of the capital on charges of drug dealing and peddling in separate drives during the last 24 hours.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed the matter to Bangladesh Pratidin on Thursday (October 19).                 

A total of 9,496 pieces of yaba, 26.1 grams of heroin, 260 bottles of phensidyle, 3 bottles of local liquor and 24 kg of hemp were seized from their possessions.

Twenty-four cases were filed with respective police stations in this regard under the narcotic control act, police said.
