Passenger bus torched in city’s Mirpur

The miscreants set a bus in fire at Mirpur-10 intersection of the capital around 1:10 pm on Thursday.

The matter was confirmed by fire service officer Talha Bin Jasim. The torched bus was belonged to Prajapati Paribahan.

According to Talha Bin Jasim, they received the news of torching a passengers-bus in Mirpur-10 intersection of the city around 1:10 pm. Then two of their units rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire.

Earlier, the miscreants set a bus of Malancha Paribahan in Sutrapur of the capital. The bus was torched in front of Sutrapur Fire Service station.

The information was confirmed to the media by duty officer of control room of fire service headquarters Lima Khanam. She said two units of their station brought the fire under control in an hour.

The BNP-Jamaat and like-minded parties are holding a 48-hour blockade across the country for the fourth phase from Sunday, as per their pre-announced one-point demand for the resignation of the government.

Meanwhile, fire service said miscreants set fire to 8 buses in 10 hours on Saturday night before the fourth phase of the blockade began. A pickup van was also set on fire.
