Police detained 50 people from various spots of the capital on charges of drug dealing and peddling in separate drives during the last 24 hours. 

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed the matter to Bangladesh Pratidin on Monday (December 12). 

A total of 8,880 pieces of yaba, 4 grams of heroin, 50 bottles of phensidyl, and 33.5 kg of hemp were seized from their possessions. 

Thirty-seven cases were filed with respective police stations in this regard under the narcotic control act, police said.
