Cumilla City Corporation Mayor and Cumilla Metropolitan unit Awami League General Secretary Arfanul Haque Rifat passed away at 6:30 pm on Wednesday (Bangladesh time) while undergoing treatment at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore.
He was 65.
Cumilla City Awami League President lawmaker AKM Bahauddin Bahar confirmed the matter to the media.Rifat has been suffering from various respiratory complications and lung infections for a long time.
