Police detained 34 people from various spots of the capital on charges of drug dealing and peddling in separate drives during the last 24 hours. 

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed the matter to Bangladesh Pratidin on Tuesday (December 26). 

A total of 264 pieces of yaba, 458 grams of heroin, 38 bottles of phensidyl, 40 bottles of foreign liquor and 6 kg of hemp were seized from their possessions. 

Twenty-four cases were filed with respective police stations in this regard under the narcotic control act, police said.
