Police detained 34 people from various spots of the capital on charges of drug dealing and peddling in separate drives during the last 24 hours. 

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed the matter to Bangladesh Pratidin on Thursday (December 28). 

A total of 17,436 pieces of yaba, 197 grams of heroin and 29 kg of hemp were seized from their possessions. 

Twenty-five cases were filed with respective police stations in this regard under the narcotic control act, police said.
