Police detained 21 people from various spots of the capital on charges of drug dealing and peddling in separate drives during the last 24 hours.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed the matter to Bangladesh Pratidin on Thursday (February 1). 

A total of 1,762 pieces of yaba, 25 bottles of phensidyle, and 20.5 kg of hemp were seized from their possessions.       

Sixteen cases were filed with respective police stations in this regard under the narcotic control act, police said.
