A team of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) arrested a man with 5 gold bars worth around Tk 1.6 crore at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Wednesday.
The arrested man is Shahin Sheikh, a resident of Munshiganj district, CIID Assistant Director Farhana Begum said on Thursday.
He said as suspicion was raised, the team found those gold bars after searching his body.Shahin was later handed over to the airport police.
A case has been filed with the Airport Police Station in this regard, he added.
