Thai festival begins in Dhaka on Wednesday.

A four-day Thai festival titled 'Top Thai Brands-2024' and Thai Food Festival will be held in the capital’s Pan Pacific Sonargaon from July 10-13, 2024.

Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka is organising the fair in association with the Thai Trade Centre and the Embassy of Thailand.

The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) of Thailand initiated the fair. 

The detail of the fair was briefed at a joint press conference at the pan pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the capital, said a media release.

Thai Ambassador in Bangladesh Makawadee Sumitmor, General Manager of the Pan Pacific Sonargaon, Robin J. Edward addressed the press conference while other senior officials concerned were present on the occasion.  

A team of highly professional Thai chefs from Bangkok will fly into Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel to prepare an array of mouth-watering authentic Thai cuisine to bring in the real flavours of Thailand.

Makawadee Sumitmor, while addressing, said that trade fairs are a way to strengthen the relationship between the two countries, adding that a total of 64 exhibitors will participate in the exhibition.

Terming Thai­land as one of the popular tourist destinations in the world, she said that the number of Bangladesh visitors reached the pre-pandemic level as some 140,000 Bangladesh visitors toured Thailand in 2023.

Sumitmor also said Thailand issues some 4,000 medical visas to Bangladeshis a year as Southeast Asia is also a popular medical tourist destination in the world.

A group of beautiful Thai dancers will also fly from Thailand to perform their vibrant ‘Thai Dance’ on every event day.

This cultural show, along with Thai cuisine, will be a wonderful blend of oriental flavours infused with the local taste. High on Thai spice, the festival will surely be a scrumptious feast for food connoisseurs.

Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun will inaugurate the fair as the chief guest.

Makawadee Sumitmor, Ambassador of Thailand to Bangladesh, will also be present.
