The government on Thursday reduced the retail price of palm oil by Tk 12 per litre to be sold at Tk 133 while the price of sugar by Tk 6 per kg at Tk 89.
The new prices will come into effect on September 25, said a statement from the Commerce Ministry.
The maximum retail price of packaged sugar per kg would be Tk 89 while that of loose sugar at Tk 84 per kg, it added.Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce Tapan Kanti Ghosh said that the prices of palm oil and sugar have been reduced in the local market in line with the reduction of prices of such items in the international market.
